Course Description:
This course explores the numerous approaches to evaluate and assess the impact of projects and considers when and where their use is appropriate. It also demonstrates that evaluation is most effective when planned at the outset. The practical sessions ensure that participants have tangible skills in a range of quantitative and qualitative methods and techniques as well as an appreciation of how results can be used to learn from past successes and failures.
Learning Outcomes:
At the end of the training, the participant will be able to:
- Appreciate the advantages and disadvantages of various evaluation methods;
- Select and use the most relevant evaluation techniques for a particular program or project;
- Critically analyze the results of impact assessments and recommend appropriate actions;
- Use the results of monitoring and evaluation activities to improve outcomes for future projects and programs.
